I have upped my total running distance of late and have also started doing the first few runs off the bike of the season. They have been going really well and the legs feel good, I have a decent base from here to start upping things a little more. My legs felt even better after the ice bath on Sunday. I get benefit from my Ice baths, the muscle soreness and general fatigue is just not there after having one. Maybe its a phycological thing. It works for me so I’m going to keep dunking myself in my Ice bath/spare wheelie bin out the back. There has been some conflicting studies done on Ice baths and the benefits for recovery, both good and bad. There is a good article about ice baths here . Have a read and make up your own opinion. Our maybe just take the plunge yourself and see how you feel.
