Looking back on the race now two days on it’s easy to say what worked and what didn’t work for me. My first start in a World-class field and I came away with a decent result. I know there is a lot more room for improvement in all aspects. My run was not where it should be right now, but it’s hard to maintain a high level when your training is disrupted by a lot of travel, that’s the compromise, you have to travel quite a bit to race and chase ITU points to make sure you get on the starting line. I have three weeks at home now in preparation for the European Champs in Athlone, which I’m looking forward to. Below are a few photos from my week spent in America during the build up to the race. A huge thank you to my home-stay family, Jason, Kerrie, Connor and Cooper.
